Is it possible to be more nervous than your child (teenager!) about the first day of High School? LOL Guess so, because my tummy's fluttering. I dropped him off and headed home, my head filled with all those swirling mom-thoughts: Will he like it (hate it?) Meet people (find old friends?) Like his teachers... and more importantly, will they like him? Realize what a great kid he is (see past that ultra-cool exterior they all sometimes use when in new situations?)
Do all moms feel this way? I'm guessing they do, but since this is my only kid, and the first time I've experienced this particular 'first', it's all new to me.
Got any advice? Bring it on... all hints, tips and tricks are welcome... believe me!

Neighbors are where you are!
One of our family traditions is the August visit to Grandmother's for the annual golf tournament. Back to my husband's hometown so he can play on the course, in the outing he's been enjoying since he was a teenager, reconnecting with his roots - and his 'high school buddies.'
I'm the spouse. It's his hometown, but over the years, I've been lucky enough to make friends with his friends - and their wives - and have come to enjoy the time as my time 'home' as well.
This year, within minutes of arriving on Thursday night, my iPhone announced its presence. It was my friend Jane. "You're here? GREAT! I have a peach cobbler going into the oven and I'll bring it over in an hour." WOW. Not am I lucky enough to have found friends in my acquired-through-marriage second hometown...
I HAVE A WONDERFUL NEIGHBOR!!!!
